Perhaps i should set goals for myself. Then life wont be so meaningless. But i dont want to set silly goals eg: finish gp by tomorrow/ eat less than 5 ferrero rochers a day -__- chocolate supply running low and holiday homework only half done. I think only a new radio can perk me up now. Either that or... nope. i'm only dying for a radio right now. And it's not just any lousy radio haha i want a radio which looks sleek, has good speakers (preferably detachable) and it must be able to play songs from my ipod. All these for below $150 =D

Hunter x chapter 289 was interesting. Yupi walks away from the challenge and we see a more feeling side of him. Nice break from all the rage and crazy distortions. I was kinda disappointed that knuckle removed his nen power though =( it would have been nice to see yupi's nen sealed up. Oh yes, my heart almost stopped when i saw that yupi managed to stab someone X__X
Bakuman was insightful as usual. A look into how mangakas rush out their manga and the competition involved. I wonder what the duo are going to do from now on. Next chapter seems to be the start of a new phase.

I conducted for the '1st time' last friday. It was an extra practice so Mr Ho did not come down and Lynna was late. Sure, warm ups and tuning. No problem. School song and national anthem, i've gotten used to it and the band has been playing it for so long. But a proper song; around 10 minutes in length. Totally nerve wrecking.

I couldnt even follow the conductor's score. Had to refer to my own score.. and all i did was to wave my arms according to the time signature, slow down when there's a ritardando and speed up blablabla. Was unable to comment much. Cos my mind was just blank haha and it was quite hard to tell the ppl what i wanted to hear. But they weren't very responsive to some of my gestures like playing softer or louder at parts. X__X in all, i was super lousy. The band ppl were nice though, they knew that it was my 1st time conducting XD

Just when i finished the 1st song and thought the worst was over, Edward told me to conduct another song so i went up for another 20 minutes of embarrassing conducting.
I will be more prepared next time =l

It has been a crazy week -- Anime festival Asia 2008

Yyy (whatever X_X) outing last sat, AFA on sun, history and band on monday to wednesday. Finally it's time for some fun at janice's house tmr and 203 outing on friday. Oh no there's band on friday and tune in this coming saturday too.

Outing with the Ys was fun XD we walked around, had delipotato, walked around again, watched yufei pierce her ears, took neoprints and watched Madagascar 2. Haha yufei, i hope your ears are ok and it's not that easy to get infections trust me ;)

AFA was awesome! I took soo many photos and enjoyed looking at the exhibits. Was very tempted to get something but still decided against it. I kinda regret not buying the X prints though, they were absolutely beautiful. It was a gem to look at, just stunning. But i valued my $10 more.. thinking back i have no idea how i managed to walk away from that stall without getting the X pictures. Haha nevermind, will glomp at the pictures in my illustrated collection to console myself. It was soooo crowded, i watched the performances for the cosplay competition by tiptoe-ing or catching lucky glimpses of the cosplayers through small gaps between heads or even strands of hair. Not a good view at all X__X Squeezed with people and tiptoed continuously for and hour++ before moving on to the exhibits. My legs ached like crap that night haha

Chibi Okita figurine. It was this whole set of chibi gintama figurines and they looked super cute. Cost bombs though. Definitely out of my budget...

From trinity blood, i was amazed by their detailed outfits. Trinity blood cosplays require alot of effort and are suuper hard to pull off. I was a little sad that they didnt get a prize in the competition haha

The ever elusive gundam. Wherever it stopped, it was swarmed by people with pro pro cameras and i stood no chance. But whenever i found an opportunity to take a picture, it started walking.

Yzak was the 1st cosplayer i spotted, even before i stepped into the hall but i thought i would be able to catch him inside. But i never saw him and was disappointed T__T Then when i was going to leave suntec, i saw Yzak near the ticketing booth playing with his hair, i mean wig (which was sooo out of character lol) XD He was quite nice and replied 'sure' to both my requests of taking a picture of him and with him. I should have made a heart sign/ looked frightened because of his stern expression/ pretended to poke him/ crossed my arms too or even lean my head on his shoulder. X__X Better than just standing there and grinning like an idiot. Sigh.....

Ish bored and excited

Yesh, i ish bored.

Snowkel songs are refreshing. I prefer them to Grapevine.. well rock has never been ranked high in my playlist anyway. I only turn to rock when familar tunes start to get monotonous. Either that or i'll desert my ipod for a few days. It always works =)

I seriously need a camera. Especially for the up coming events... Anime fair and band festival. Come on, who's going to pose for someone holding a phone camera? I wouldn't. *Sniff* I'm prepared to come back with lousy photos and all sideviews.

Siighh. Band festival.. another disappointment. I pleaded with mum to push holidays back but still cant perform for the final concert. Cos i'll be leaving singapore the day before. But it's ok cos i believe i'll still get to make lots of new friends and get a feel of being under another conductor and practising with people i don't know. I have been warned about the terrible standards of bands other than the honour band..... it's quite shocking. But if i dont get into honour band i'll try not to focus too much on the music aspect T___T

Level E X Koukou debut

Currently reading this slightly old manga by Togashi. Alright.. it's quite old, published in shonen jump from 1995 to 1997. That makes it even older than hunter x O_o well anyway the title's Level E and it's about aliens living on earth and stuff. For those who have seen my msn personal message 'Level E-- brilliant!', i really think that it's a brilliant piece of work.

Even though i dont see any bishies around or even a hint of characters like Kurapica or Kurama, the drawings are still quite pleasing to the eye. Some kind of transition state between Yu yu hakusho and hunter x i guess. The background drawings are largely similar to hxh ones though, squiggly lines with little shadings. A continued style from yyh and extended to hxh, Level E is extremely wordy.

Surprised to see this in a manga eh? Still, i strained my eyes to read and gosh the diary (yes it's a diary) was so funny and explained clearly what the whole mystery was about.

This makes me doubt what a chapter in Bakuman mentioned about cutting down on words in a manga series to attract readers.

Aesthetics aside, the plot's engaging even for people who have no special interest in aliens (like me) with pinches of humour here and there. XDXD from this we can see that Level E focusses more on humour and development of plot rather than beautiful characters and drawings. Level E also has a little bit of horror in it. Haha i mean, Togashi + aliens.. i wouldnt be expecting flowers and fluff.

I've also been reading Koukou debut aka high school debut and it's really good! Kept me entertained every chapter haha here are some pics which i thought were really funny with classic expressions. Lol i already can imagine a thousand scenarios from these 2 pictures.

There's band at nie starting from 3pm.. I have a feeling i'll reach home around 9pm tmr. Maybe 8pm+ if Mr Ho releases us on time. Yufei, you never mentioned anything about the long prac hours T__T I should have guessed anyway. But i like the SYF pieces so it wont be too boring for me =D Wheewhee~~

Mum bought a bottle of Sunsilk 'smooth and silky' hair conditioner and the bottle's a delightful yellow XD I remember using the same kind of conditioner back when i was in sec 2. The brand was known as Organic(s?) then. It's the same fragrance and gosh, brings back lots of memories. I was totally crazy over Shalnark and hxh at that point in time. So smelling it again now makes me want to re-read the entire manga and take the silly quizilla 'which hxh character are you' quizzes again hahaha. Alright. I've got to stop my fangirling and do gp now.

New hxh chapter up. After looking at that distorted mutated drawing of Yupi, Akira immediately came to mind. There's a term for this kind of graphics or drawings but i can't remember it for nuts suddenly. X__X Oh yes, 'body horror', where the body undergoes horrible and incompatible transformations. Of course hxh wasnt that bad. But Yupi's rage condition really made me think of Tetsuo's little transformation near the end of Akira movie. Togashi had better not venture more into where i think he's going. Haha hope that i'm just reading too much into it (small pun intended). Ehh... will not post a picture of it here so dont worry =D

Last wednesday after band, i was on the bus going to boonlay interchange when i saw this guy reading a manga. It was quite new judging from the whiteness of the page.

1st glance: alerted me that it was a manga he was reading.
2nd glance: Was that Feitan's face i saw?!
3rd glance: OMG it's Hunter x hunter! XDXD hahaha

Hahaha ok you must be thinking that i was glancing too much but it was quite obvious if i were to stare because of where i was standing. =D Soo...that manga he bought contains genei ryodan's adventure in NGI. Cool =D

Clover CLAMP deluxe edition

Sooo i started on koukou debut which Bao recommended. It's... nice, better than some other shoujo series i've tried last time. But 'Beauty is the beast' still ranks number 1! XD I'm sure Janice agrees haha.
I dont understand this feeling.. why am i reading shoujo manga now?! The plots are almost 70% similar to each other and some parts can really bore me to tears. The amazingly good looking male characters obviously play a part in this attraction, they may not be perfect like edward cullen but i still glomp at them. I suppose it's my own imagination and fatasy that keeps me reading. ^///^ yes, i want to meet someone like that and fall in love. Doesn't have to be so drama lah, but isnt it nice haha =)

Oh man, i found this incident so amusing lol. Long long ago when my pw group was practising for OP, midzung popped over to hand me my birthday present (thanks midzung *love*) and she was frantically looking for a smaller box to put the present in cos she had this ridiculously large plastic bag containing the present haha. She acted quite secretively and refused let me see it or tell anyone what it was. Zhung How offered his empty pocky box and she used it. Zhung How was like 'what is it! come on, let us see it!' -__- it seemed like the guys were more interested in the present than gowri or I were. After Midzung left, Henry suddenly asked 'is it a panty?' OMG ROFL hahahaha he said he got the idea from anime. Then i must say he watched too much anime haha even then i dont recall any anime where a girl passes a panty to a friend in a pocky box. Haha the others were shocked too XD

Here's my CLAMP collection. Only X and Clover haha. Bao gave me X book 4 in chinese which her senior found in school. It's super old and yellow. I bought the other X from a second hand sale in school. The X illustrated collection was the 1st illustrated collection i ever bought, it's also my favourite =D

Ahh hunter x hunter. My favourite but i seem to have the least stuff for hxh. The official guide book was also given by Janice who bought it in japan!! Thanks again janice XD. Hxh book 9 was also the 1st ever manga i bought, in sec 2. So it's also yellowish now hehe

There's also this gintama illustrated collection i got recently. Lazy to post the picture haha. It's quite a scary pile if you put my anime manga stuff together eh? I also have the anime magazines posters and cds (all not shown) from china! Mum will freak and forbid me to buy anymore if she saw my collection T__T

Not worth mentioning here but the dreams were rather nightmare-ish for a period of time.

Op ended on tuesday and i did ok, just didnt answer the question well =( Had a pw group outing after that and we went to orchard. Zhung how couldnt join us cos he had training. (note to self: never allow my children to join canoeing).

So it was just henry, kokwah, gowri and i! 1st stop, we went to kino at takashimaya. Chionged straight to the manga section and searched for the CLAMP stuff. And i spotted my birthday present there: CLOVER 4!!!! Wheeeeee~ 9bucks, slightly ex but who cares XD Walked around more and no one found anything they want so we went off to have lunch. Had the teriyaki chicken student meal at yoshinoya, the waffle fries tasted weird..

Visited HMV next and glomped at the super expensive ost and jap singers albums. The special chemistry song collection album with live performances recoreded in a dvd made me drool but it was $55 and i have most of the songs in there.. so maybe another time =) No one bought anything haha we're just a bunch of penniless school kids.

It was near 5 when we headed home. The guys took bus while gowri and i took the mrt. Unwrapped clover4 on the train and amazed Gowri with the plot and beeeeaaautifuuulll drawings. Hahaha honestly i think she was very interested. Perhaps i can get her to read another manga soon. Here are some pics of clover2 and 3. The full version is on facebook.

I realised my computer clock was slow by 1 entire hour! No wonder happy birthday wishes started flooding in at '11pm'. I was even wondering why people show such kiasu behaviour nowadays lol. Appeared offline after that cos i was going to sleep soon anyway.
