RIP Shalnark hubby

It was a happening weekend, had a shoot on sat morning, joined band friends for a movie and went to event again on sunday. I was quite happy with the shoot on sat, it's a simple costume and the weather was just nice for shoot. Realised that I"m squinting quite abit in the first selfie.. :X probably the last time i wear this wig (for now) i'm glad it was a good end.

Been neglecting my PSV.. Finishing Frank's route.. he's quite precious

I went to pompompurin cafe last monday! Was there early so there was no queue. Food was exp but I felt so happy eating and looking at the cute deco. The cup's so small I have nothing to put in it.

Sigh.. here comes abit of emoing over HxH

I understand and was prepared for the pains of liking a minor character... Shalnark didn't get much manga/anime screen time but I've written quite a few fanfics, and imagined so much more about him. HxH is a cruel world, I used to tell myself that he would probably die young, killed by another nen user but his death still came unexpectedly. Probably cos it's been more than 10 years and I was assuming that he would make it till the end. My take is that there is no other meaning behind killing them off other than to add impact to the story. Maybe his nen would become stronger with death and Danchou would be able to do more with it (or not). All my fave HxH characters other than Gon (the protagonist) are dead. Shalnark was especially dear to me because he was my self-proclaimed hubby..

I would like to think that Shalnark didn't die defenseless (it makes me feel better that way) even though his main weapon was on loan to Danchou. Even if it wasn't on loan he would not have put up much of a fight because my baby was not suited for combat. We don't know the details of the fight, it wasn't illustrated. Just a blur figure as he was hit by Hisoka and the next page already showed his dead face and corpse being pecked at by crows. His face was dripping with blood and the torso was battered and bloody down the middle.

He was looking forward to the troupe's gathering :(((((((((((( 

More spiders are definitely going to die, I hope Hisoka gets fully thrashed by someone stronger. I never liked Hisoka much because he was overrated and now I can officially say that I have lost even more positive interest in him. I'm glad I managed to cosplay Shalnark before he officially died. Will do it once more during character expo.

Everything sounds so comical hor.. but i'm really quite sad.

Guess what I saw on day 1 of the event

Bought almost all the hxh buttons I saw. It's not alot but still I don't have space to hang them OTL throw to office.

On day 2, I was soloing and following the bf's team when I saw Shizuku... Was spazzing when I spotted the rest of the team one by one walking behind her. Asgdhfkekcnskd it was a one way path and the railing separated us so I totally ran ahead and completed the round and stalked them for about half an hour, waiting for the full team to assemble wahahaha

               

Old version vs new version!! I initially wanted to cos shalnark on day 2 as well but decided against it because I felt it was a wee bit too plain. Hahahaha it would have been so cute if both Shalnarks met though XDXD

Sorry for my disturbing leg. Long story short.. We all forgot our room card which gives access to the lifts and had to climb the stairs. Me, being in my primary school mode at the best of time, fell at the last flight.......... Now my knee feels super tight, hard to bend. Luckily it was at the night of the last event day.. Only the shopping left haha.

Some things happened during the trip which involved me crying -__- but I feel like we understand each other better now. I'm very happy he doesn't slurp his noodles, and doesn't snore when sleeping on the bus. The bus trip from singapore to KL was super long because we were caught in almost every jam along the way. 10 hour ride omg..... the whole friday was gone when we could have reached around 2pm. Trip back to Singapore was much smoother, reached home at around 1+am.

With my new toy, bought him on new year day! he has a permanent frown ahaha fierce I like.

I brought him to the office too ^^ moved to my proper seat cos my senior has officially transferred out. Time to bring all my figurines and display them. Work is okay! I haven't dealt with any angry people yet but the first time will come soon I guess hahaha

I'm so happy!!!!!

Last saturday........... I finally cosplayed a character from Hunter X Hunter; one of my favourite characters; my hubby of 8 years and counting-- Shalnark from the Genei Ryodan 

                                           

It's a dream come true, because I even had a team!!!! :D we were all busy and the shoot kept getting delayed but it still happened :)))))) 

Did the first costest on friday, which was pretty late, at one day before the shoot but things were looking good so I was even more excited XD the shoes were my main concern because I wanted to use the green cloth to wrap them up but it didn't work well! So I made the decision to paint them using green acrylic X_X

Usually I complain alot while making props but not this darling devil phone XD it was so fun to make and simpler than guns or beads or whatnots. Squealed like mad while assembling the eyes especially XD it's just so cute okay XDXD From where I stopped months ago (the first photo) I decided that it was too wide and sliced off a mm or two from each side. Got a little worried there cos I didn't slice it neatly and I thought I had to redo the whole thing hahaha. I even made it such that I could change the screen by sliding pre-made screens in through the side ehehe so cute so cute.

The antenna was very cute to make also XD I broke a chopstick in half and added jumping clay at the top. Stuck on the wings, lined them with jumping clay, painted the stuff and tada~~~ All the buttons were made using jumping clay too!

So I met up with the bf and had lunch before going over to the shoot location. It was a very windy area and even got cold at some point hahaha feel sorry for those in just bandages or singlets. The shoot started a little late though, and I had more poses which I wanted photos of but due to time constraints, I only got 2 fulfilled XD It's okay, I'll definitely be cosing Shalnark a few more times.

Lots of new experiences XD we experimented with candles, the entire team skipped dinner and braved the rain for a night shot at MBS, hope it will turn out well :DDD This shoot was also my latest ending shoot ever. I got home at 3am OTL Waiting for taxi took forever hahaha when I finally got in bed, I couldn't feel my legs anymore, my lower body just felt like a lump.

AFA 2012

This was hands down the most tiring event ever but it was so eventful!! But I wish I had better time management and that the handphone reception at expo was better. Super super duper long post! So I'll start off with some complaints as usual ;)

Arrived there earlier than expected and managed to get my ticket. The hall was huge, and it was hard walking from one end to the other because it was too crowded, and my shoes were killing me. Perhaps I didn't study the floor plan well enough, perhaps the management didn't do a good enough job labeling the entry points, I couldn't find the entrance for the festive stage -_- even received wrong directions from a staff. I have leg muscle ache today T__T

The reception was really bad, and I forgot to tell Kyou and the rest to please pick up their phones. As a result, I was separated from the team after finishing my seiyuu event, and again after my interview. Waste time, energy and my phone battery ttm while looking for them.

Also, I would really rather not have a person who's not in the team to tag along especially if he/she causes inconvenience because wants to do his/her own stuff. We can meet and go together, but please go solo after that if you want to do sth that the rest have no interest in.

This time there were a lot of cosplayers, too many I didn't know how to start taking photos so I ended up not taking any.. except of ppl I know and the Genei Ryodan.. Not good :( 

Next up-- Happy stuff :D I SAW DAISUKE KISHIO!!! screamed a lot at him and took photos and videos even though it's not allowed. Nvm, as long as I don't share them in public right? ^_^

Kishio was very very cute on stage though he never really looked in my direction :( though I was sitting in the middle section. He did a voice for the merlion and initially he did that gurgling sound XD and said that the merlion couldn't speak because water was coming out of it's mouth HAHA

Then after his song, he asked for water and while Danny Choo was blocking the camera while Kishio drank, Kishio kept peeping out from behind Danny with ADORABLE EXPRESSIONS. Like O.O and :3 hahahaha I also caught him pouting (idk?? XD) while May'n was being interviewed hehe

Lots of other people were also screaming for Kishio, it was a good sign!! I really hope AFA invites other male seiyuus in the future. Please please please~~

I also managed to find and buy my Dramatical Murder badges, didn't want to get the full set at first but the person told me that it's cheaper to get everything so that was what I did =D I was a few meters away from the booth and checked my goods. Realised that they missed out Mink!! Omg flew back and 'demanded' my Mink haha! With this, I'm planning to start a DMMd cosplay team soon and give the respective badges out to the cosers. 

While looking for Kyou and the rest, I saw the loves of my life, the Genei Ryodan!! Super happy and excited!! And it's very special because there was a Shalnark within the team!!!!! MY LAOGONG~ I took solo shots of them (kuroro, hisoka and shalnark) and then took a shot with Shal kun. Pity I didn't look very nice there but it's ok.

Nope I'm not sorry that I manipulated the photo XDXDXD

I actually went back to find them again after the full team assembled, this time with Bonorenofu and Feitan. Took group shots 8D

Then I went for a scheduled interview with a Japanese professor who flew to Singapore just these few days to give a talk on Japanese pop culture in NUS today and tomorrow. I did her survey on anime and manga perception a few months back and so honoured sia, my answers caught her attention. So she asked me a lot of questions and I had a lot of fun rambling on and on about my love for anime and manga, essentially all my feels. She was so interested in what I had to say about my love hate relationship with Yaoi and voice recorded everything down HAHA first time someone pays so much attention to my anime and manga ramblings (Y) 

We even spoke about seiyuus OMG you know.. seiyuus are really so popular in Japan. The anime and manga fandom overseas may be huge, but love for seiyuus is totally underrated. She asked for my favourite seiyuu cos I told her about Daisuke Kishio and when I said Nakamura Yuuichi, she said 'youkyan'!! She admires Yoshimasa Hosoya alot, and calls him 'Hosoyan'. T___T true blue seiyuu fan there. It was awesome talking to her =DDD 

The poor guy who was with her knows nothing about seiyuus (he doesn't know about yuri either O_o even though he likes anime and manga and draws) and she explained to him that she likes Hosoyan for his voice only, not the appearance. While Youkyan, whom I like, is quite good looking. I was like... O_o because I actually consider Hosoyan to be better looking than Youkyan. I once watched a video of Hosoyan singing and dancing and 被电到 haha

Anyways in the end she gave me a set of tiger and bunny bookmarks. Yay :) but too bad I didn't watch the series because it seems to have too much boy love.

I went out after the interview and was lucky enough to find the rest who had their photos taken by lots of photographers while I was not there T__T it's ok I'll survive.

 I don't have all the photos yet so just sharing what I have on my camera..

 I honestly wish I had nicer lips.. they're so thick me no likey. Time to experiment with lip concealers :P added lip colour to this one, still not too bad :D

Overall, cosplay wise I tried eye shadow make up and lower lashes for the first time and it was passable by my standards. Still got lots to improve though!! Hope the rest enjoyed themselves hehe I was really quite impatient but hey someone has got to play the bad guy right! and Yz arh......... really got to put in more effort and take care of the costume and wigs (really heart pain when I see the state of my wig). 

Still, really need to thank Yz and Kyou for cosplaying together with me. Hope to cosplay together again!! Cos I've been asked to join groups here and there which do not include them. But if I form my own team, I'll definitely leave a spot for yz and kyou~!

Hunter x hunter

I'm making this post for a reason. Stumbled upon this website which read ' Marriage prospect: Shalnark' Erm, well, with darling shalnark being my laogong, how could i not take a look?

HORROR HORROR He already has 2 brides! X_X Only one more slot left so i'm determined to get it. And i've got to make a post (not just the title; but a sypnosis, a review, a fic, an art... in short: a sign of "devotion" -- what would the marriage be for anyway?)
I shall have to leave out the art part or everyone will be seeing disfigured stick figures.



Sypnosis: Hunter X Hunter starts off with Gon Freecss taking part in the hunter exam on a quest to find his father Ging, a legendary hunter. In the process, Gon meets Killua, kurapica and leorio, 3 other very different guys with the same aim; to become a hunter.

The second arc follows Gon and Killua as they learn the usage of nen at the celestial tower. (I almost died during this part while reading the manga, so many words! X_X) Gon also visits Zaoldyeck Family and successfully 'rescues' killua and the two of them continue on their journey.
An informative section of the anime where the concept of nen is introduced eg the different general abilities and such

We move on to the Genei Ryodan story arc, where Shalnark is finally introduced, along with the remaining members of the genei ryodan XD. Kurapica's revenge on the spiders was not an easy one, though he managed to kill off Ubogin and Pakunoda T_T This part of the story focuses on Kurapica's brilliant schemings to destroy the spiders to revenge his clan which was slaughtered by the spiders many years ago. Kuroro (leader of the genei ryodan) was captured by kurapica and had his nen ability sealed, thinking that without a leader, the spiders would surely perish.
Definitely the most exciting part of the anime. It had me gobbling up manga after manga.

Greed island story arc, also the OVA. Gon and killua learn of a seemingly-magical video game that sucks its player's physical bodies into its own world. Gon later realised that his father, Ging is one of the creators of the game, making him even more determined to join it. They meet the Bomber, who kills off players by placing a bomb on their body.

The Chimera ants story arc is incomplete. Gon and Killua, along with Kaito and a group of hunters investigate an insect leg which was washed up shore. This leads them to the island of Neo green life (NGL) where they suspect a giant queen chimera ant and her group of man-eating insects are killing off most of the human population. Kaito was killed T_T but brought back to life, joining the chimera ants. The chimera ants, very unfortunately, also developed the nen ability after eating some hunters.

Will gon and killua be able to destroy the chimera ants and save kaito? No one knows cos Mr Yoshihiro Togashi went on a hiatus.

In short, Hunter X Hunter is a beautiful series with touching friendship, action and humour packed into 60+ episodes. Fantastic music too, definitely worth watching.

Firstly, YOU STOLE OUR PET COCKROACH! It used to like our toilet but now it loves yours. I demand that you return the cockroach or my family and i will not hesitate to take legal action against you.
I also regret to inform you that your toilet is faulty and leaks really badly. And a foul smell permeates through from above whenever you flush. I strongly advice you to watch your intake of durians, for both the sake of your health and our nose.

Transplanted kang kong seedlings during cca today and karene took many unglam photos of me. So i shan't upload any. I'm kind of chaoda again cos of the transplanting and soccer during pe. I won't even call it soccer yet -__-. Pick up the ball, roll it to a friend and friend has to stop it with her foot. Repeat routine... I got chaoda for nothing.
Watching this anime now, Gunparade Orchestra. The ending song is good Has potential though the 1st epispde was a flop. A funny flop XD I've given up on kiss dum cos of some missing episodes, and there's not enough humour. Gintama is HILARIOUS! I love this anime! Haha the main character digs his nose and there's not a single cool or suave character in this anime, though they're all so good looking. Good enough for love at 1st sight ^_^ <3

Ok, i realised they don't look very alike here. Just the hairstyle and some of the features. And shalnark is way, way, way cooler than okita haha. All the characters in Gintama are idiots, but lovable idiots. I shall stop typing now and continue watching anime.
