Starring Tsukiko and her adventures
with the student council bishies—Kazuki, Hayato and Tsubasa. The main plot
revolves around them preparing for school festivals, events and elections. Not
as much angst as Autumn, but each character has their own not so happy
past.
The most amazing side character also
appears in Winter—Ooshirou Shirogane, voiced by Suwabe Junichi. He already
looks too awesome to be an uncapturable character but fret not, cos he has a
route in After Winter, and it’s a super awesome one, from what I’ve read!
The opening song, Grayed out, is
sung by Nakamura Yuuichi and it’s my favourite starry sky song out of the 4 seasons
XD
Shiranui Kazuki, Aries, CV: Nakamura Yuuichi
Kazuki kaichou~ I love you the most,
no matter what I say during your route, you’ll always be my favourite okie?
Before playing the game, I was instantly attracted to Kazuki from the opening
sequence alone, because of his glasses. He looked so charming and serious
writing away at the desk wearing a pair of glasses.
A strong headed guy who goes around
dragging and appointing students, namely Hayato, Tsukiko and Tsubasa (the
following year) into the student council on the very first day they step into
school, he’s extremely charismatic and capable. Kazuki fools around pretty
often, and takes a particular interest in Tsubasa and his fail experiments.
He’s good friends with Homare and Ooshirou and was retained during his first
year, making him 2 years older than Tsukiko. The mystery behind his retain will
be revealed during the route.
Throughout the game, Kazuki teases
Tsukiko when she blushes at the things he says, asking if she has been
mesmerized by him. She says no of course, but I always get charmed by him when
he says stuff like that XD One of the cutest scenarios happens early in the
game when his lips crack while laughing, Tsukiko asks him to bend down so that
she could apply lip balm for him. He complies and after the lip balm has been
applied, he continues bending and asks “Is it alright for me to kiss you?”
Tsukiko gets all flustered but I was totally screaming in my head “YES, KAZUKI,
PLEASE DO!” but he bursts out laughing saying it was just a joke and splits his
lips again XD
Another time, Tsukiko almost falls
in the snow but Kazuki catches hold of her just in time. Unfortunately his hand
ends up on her chest and Tsukiko goes into a blushing fit. Kazuki casually says
“Oh sorry! It’s so flat that I didn’t even notice!” silly old man XD Tsukiko
starts to fall in love with Kazuki (as I do) and worries about little things
like indirect kisses when they share a drink. Kazuki, on his part, does more
than his share to lead her on, hugging Tsukiko from the back to keep her warm
not just once, but twice, saying things like “I’ll never let you go”.
Tsukiko wonders if she has met
Kazuki before entering the school, because she occasionally gets a sense of
déjà vu when she’s with him but Kazuki denies it every time. Tsukiko gets the
feeling that she has been saved by Kazuki before but nothing concrete comes to
mind.
Kazuki brings Tsukiko to the male
dorm roof top and they sit on a comfy couch with a good view of the school. He
tells her about Tsubasa’s late grandfather who was a teacher he respected
tremendously. Kazuki has the ability to predict the future and it was Tsubasa’s
late grandfather who suggested to Kazuki’s father to enroll Kazuki into this
astronomy school to learn to better control his powers. Kazuki had also
promised this teacher to help make the school a lively place for when Tsubasa
enrolls here. This explains Kazuki’s special interest in Tsubasa (Kazuki’s so
sweet T___T) Tsukiko wants to know why he was retained a year but Kazuki
jokingly avoids answering it, piping her curiosity even more.
She asks Ooshirou and after bribing
him with a random handphone strap she found on the floor and he answers her
question. I loved this part a lot because it was like reading a mystery novel,
narrated by Suwabe’s sexy voice. Ooshirou was quite the delinquent in his first
year, and Kazuki tried to help Ooshirou change his way of life. Through this,
they became close. Once when Ooshirou was sitting at a classroom balcony, he
was accidentally pushed by another student and was about to fall off. However,
Kazuki appeared in the nick of time and pulled Ooshirou back into the
classroom, falling off the balcony himself instead. He was hospitalized for two
months and had to be retained. Ooshirou also retained a year, due to his high
truant rate.
Tsukiko catches Kazuki sleeping in
the student council room couch one night with his glasses 8D Kazuki admits to
joining the student council to feel needed by people. Kazuki hugs Tsukiko
suddenly and tells her to graduate from him despite Tsukiko wanting to stay by
his side. Tsukiko is confused (as I am L)
Once again, in exchange for a
handphone strap, Ooshirou tells Tsukiko that Kazuki’s parents died in an
accident when he was very young and Kazuki has been living with his uncle who
is a shrine owner ever since. Kazuki feels really guilty because he had predicted
the accident but didn’ do anything then because he had not understood his
abilities. Still, the catch for changing the future events was that the
misfortune would be directed onto Kazuki himself. Due to this, Kazuki has been
trying his best to prevent misfortune from falling onto people, at the same
time, not allowing people to get close to him because he doesn’t want their
gratitude.
Kazuki asks Tsukiko to view the
stars together. (Here they put the pre-moniter kiss CG but he doesn’t kiss her
URGH) She confesses!!! Way to go Tsukiko! Kazuki sighs and says that he only
sees her as a sister, a junior but not as a lover. (LIES!!) Tsukiko then asks
him not to hug her, not to try to kiss her, and to stop it with the actions
which lead her on. She leaves the male dorm L
At the end of the valentines’ day
event the next day, Tsukiko attempts to give the chocolate containing her
feelings to Kazuki but is firmly rejected. It was quite a heart breaking
process and in the end, she gives them to Ooshirou instead. After that,
Ooshirou gives them to Kazuki, who was ranting to himself about not being able
to accept the chocolate much as he really wished to.
The next day Kazuki catches Tsukiko
hesitating in front of the student council door and she gets so embarrassed
that she runs away. Kazuki gives chase and the two of them continue running and
chasing for quite some time until Tsukiko trips at the stairs and falls. Kazuki
catches up and cusions her fall LOL However he faints after they finally reach
the student council room. After this
event, Tsukiko finds it slightly easier to be around Kazuki because she feels
happy just to see him well and smiling.
Tsukiko goes retrieve some documents
from a deserted room by herself while the three guys are out patrolling.
Unfortunately she gets locked in with the lights off and is paralyses with fear
due to a past experience. Kazuki rushes there to rescue her after realizing
that she isn’t around and receiving a tip off from Ooshirou. Tsukiko vaguely
hears his voice before losing consciousness.
This incident causes Tsukiko to have
a dream which brings back her memories with Kazuki when they were both young.
Another childhood friend has appeared! O_O A similar incident had happened in
the past where Tsukiko was trapped in the dark by a bunch of guys who wanted to
get back at Kazuki. Kazuki had arrived too late which resulted in Tsukiko’s
phobia for the dark and enclosed areas. She also had a high fever. To prevent
her from recalling unpleasant memories, he repeatedly told her to forget about
him and all they had experienced together in her half conscious state and
apparently it worked (how did he do it O_o)
Tsukiko and Kazuki both wake up from
the same dream. She starts crying and holds his hands tightly. She assures
Kazuki that she will always stay by his side, so it’s ok for him to say that he
loves her. (what kind of warped logic is this O_o) He doesn’t want her to
remember because remembering him would also bring back bad memories of being
locked in a dark room. Tsukiko insists that it’s better this way and Kazuki
bashfully asks if she really thinks that he’s good (for her). –melts- and then
they kiss many many times LOL
Kazuki meets Tsukiko the next day
and tells her that he wants to visit his parents grave, and discuss with his
uncle his plans after graduation which will take place really soon. He asks her
to wait for him. When he comes back, he tells her that he wants to go to
university abroad, to explore the world and see what the future holds for him.
Tsukiko very graciously wishes him well and asks him to think of her
occasionally and to never let her go.
Best ending: Five years after
Tsukiko’s graduation, she marries Kazuki. Very nice CG of them cutting the cake
cos I see the spring and summer guys XDXD Kazuki insists on being fed by
Tsukiko but she gets so embarrassed that she wildly thrusts the cake in the
direction of his mouth and gets it all over his face LOL then he asks her to
clean the cream off his face using her mouth. HAIYO kazuki XDXD
Ending 2: Kazuki goes on a date with
Tsukiko wearing his school uniform even though he has already graduated because
she wants to have a school uniform date. He feels very embarrassed and things
get worse then Ooshirou catches them. Now Ooshirou thinks that Kazuki has been
retained for yet another year XDXD
Ending 3: On the day of Tsukiko’s
graduation, Kazuki comes to see her and she runs into his arms. （*´▽｀*）She gets too emotional after graduating and starts crying, and Kazuki
kisses her many many. (❁´◡`❁)*✲ﾟ*
ohohoho
Ending 4: Kazuki comes back to visit
a few months after graduation. He tries to kiss Tsukiko at the school gate but
she keeps dodging, out of embarrassment. Then when they’re finally alone, she
tries to get away saying that she has student council duties but Kazuki says
her duty is to properly take care of the ex president XD then Tsukiko gives in
to a kiss not long later. Omg youkyan your voice~~
I kept thinking throughout the route
when Kazuki does such ridiculously affectionate things, if he knows what
effects they are having on Tsukiko. One moment he seems so sweet and loving,
yet the next moment the affection he shows seems to be of that for a sister,
not a lover. And then he rejects her so firmly -__- He’s just contradicting
himself, not convincing! Good thing Tsukiko persisted, though Kazuki made it
really hard.
I guess the reason why I love Kazuki
so much is because I can see that he’s a family oriented guy, and yet he talks
about experiencing the world and is ambitious. This are very good qualities,
but only if he prioritizes family over ambition ahaha.
Hayato Aozora, Virgo, CV: Hirakawa Daisuke
Oh gosh Hirarin.. You drive me nuts
with your gentle voice. But I prefer Youkyan’s voice, sorry ^_^ Hayato looks
too prim and proper for my liking but he has a very pretty face. I just wish he
had more expressions and actions sprites like Tsubasa, and get rid of the gay
postures -_-
Appropriately named ‘boss’ by
Ooshirou, Hayato frequently gets Kazuki and Tsubasa under his control by
brandishing his deadly weapon—the black chalk board which he threatens to run
his nails across when those two get out of hand. Tsukiko, of course, gets ear
plugs prepared by Hayato.
After the Christmas event, all that
talk about student council elections start surfacing which puts Hayato under
great pressure. He feels that he isn’t capable of fulfilling the expectations
that everyone, especially Kazuki is placing on him. Hayato comes from a family
of distinguished pianists. He seems to be the weakest pianist amongst his
siblings, despite his love for music and dedication to the instrument. Because
of this, Hayato’s parents have always ignored him (POOR BOY T_T) He did intend to run for president, but it was
solely for the sake of improving his status in the eyes of his family. He had
dropped the idea because he feels that he will never be able to do as good a
job as Kazuki did.
Hayato makes himself very clear
regarding his dislike of people imposing their expectations on him. If I were
Tsukiko, I would feel really bad about bothering him about it but no, she
doesn’t give up and bugs him every day at the piano room until he pushes her
against the wall and asks if she could shut her mouth for a bit (in a calm voice)
O_O he continues saying very accusing stuff and even shouts at her before
leaving the room. What happened to my gentle and polite boy T_T
Tsukiko’s persistence comes into
play and she goes find him once again the next day Hayato sneers at her for
assuming that she understands him and as Tsukiko tries to convey her confidence
in Hayato’s abilities, it becomes a confession! I was all O_O and applauding
her courage. I guess Hayato was too shocked to reply properly and Tsukiko leaves
the room.
On the final day of the election
form submission, Hayato does a bit of rolling about in the snow and finally
realizes that he wants to stay with Tsukiko and Tsubasa in the student council
and become the president to protect what Kazuki has done so far. It was after a
lot of emoing in the snow and internal struggle that Hayato realized this was
what he really wanted.
On election day, the other opponent
backs out lol and Hayato makes his election speech. He wins the elections of
course and during his thank you speech after being elected, Hayato openly
confesses to Tsukiko on stage and asks for her reply –screams- I couldn’t
believe my eyes when this happened, I love Hayato so much for doing that! So
cool~~~ (´
▽｀).。ｏ♡ I’m all yours, Hayato.
Tsukiko says yes, of course I’d
personally hammer her if she said anything other than yes. The school cheers
and Hayato gives a smiling warning that Tsukiko belongs to him and no one is
allowed to make any advances on her XD After he gets off stage while clearing
up, he pulls Tsukiko aside and kisses her ♥（ﾉ´∀`）
It’s all lovey dovey after that and
gosh Hayato you kissing maniac! The guys are getting increasingly bolder with
each season. I remember in Spring, the guys politely ask Tsukiko to
close her eyes and ask if they can come closer and all but Hayato goes straight
for the lips and smile at Tsukiko’s flustered reactions after that. More than
three times! He also brings up ‘punishment’ very easily. Kyaaha XD but yea I’m
not complaining.
Hayato agrees to perform a piano
piece for an upcoming concert organized by the music club and Tsukiko
accompanies him every day as he practices ^_^ The performance went really well
and Hayato receives the attention of some reporters which he attributes to his
relation with his musical family and thinks nothing of it.
Valentine event, unlike in Kazuki’s
route, Tsukiko presents her chocolate to Hayato at the end of the day. He
happily accepts it and forces asks her to feed him a piece using her
mouth. It’s a clichéd idea but quite sweet because of the way he initiates it
XD What I couldn’t stand was the CG which just had an additional piece of
chocolate hanging out of his mouth -___- STOP IT! He looks like a dog! I’d
rather have no CG -_-
Things start to change after Hayato speaks
to his elder sister who comes to the school specially to meet Hayato. He
disappears for the rest of the day and only leaves a message with Kazuki that
he will not be able to come to school. When Hayato finally calls Tsukiko at
night, he apologises and says that he will not be able to come back to school
for the time being, citing family problems as the reason.
Tsukiko is surprised to see Hayato
in the student council room because he had not been answering phone calls the
past days. Hayato tells her that he has been offered a place in Italy to study
music because his performance had attracted the attention of a famous composer
who had already approached his parents for approval. His parents have also
agreed. So Hayato has decided to drop out of school to become a pianist. O_O
Tsukiko refuses to believe that it is what he truly wants. Hayato admits that
he’s choosing to do this because it’s the only way his parents will ever
acknowledge him, now that the opportunity has presented itself, he does not want
to let it go by. Hayato asks Tsukiko to treat it as if nothing had ever
happened between them. (´Д｀。) Noooooo
The next day, Hayato disappears
right after lessons and Tsukiko is unable to find him anywhere. Later that
night, she receives a call from Hayato who says that he has submitted his
leaving school form to Kazuki and informed him of his decision. Tsukiko is
unable to change his mind even after meeting him again in the student council
room. Kazuki steps in with his ‘men talk’ on the roof top and finally manages
to convince Hayato that what he wants is right here in the school d=(´▽｀)=b Nui nui saa!!!
Hayato asks to meet Tsukiko the next
morning and holds her hand the entire time while confronting his elder sister
and brother who have come to fetch him home. His sister is furious but the
brother is more understanding and they return without Hayato (Y)
Best Ending: They get married.
Hayato stares at Tsukiko in the wedding gown as she falls asleep LOL and does a
monologue.
Ending 2: Hayato wakes Tsukiko up
with a kiss as punishment for falling asleep when he plays the piano (she does
that a lot).
Ending 3: Hayato hands over the president
position to…… Tsubasa! XD Tsukiko becomes too nervous when Hayato comes too
close and she says some stuff which sounds like she’s getting married to
Hayato. This causes him to laugh like a mad man.
Ending 4: Kazuki visits during
golden week :D Hayato kinda neglects him due to the enormous work load so
Kazuki teams up with Tsubasa to flirt with Tsukiko to make him jealous. It
doesn’t work but Hayato comes over to save his lover anyway XDXD kyaaa he isn’t
worried, but he tells them to stop teasing Tsukiko XD
I honestly enjoyed Hayato’s route
very very much as you can tell from my writing. It’s the kind of romance I
would like to experience in school, with all of its ups and downs. Hayato’s
problems are very real, though slightly exaggerated.
Amaha Tsubasa, Aquarius, CV: Suzumura Kenichi
Tsubasa was appointed as the student
council treasurer on his 1st day at school by Kazuki and he joins
willingly after being bribed with resources and money for his experiments.
Though nothing productive seems to come out from his experiments other than
smoke and explosions XD
Although he’s the youngest (one year
younger than Tsukiko) Tsubasa is one of the tallest Starry sky characters, at
185cm, same as Homare, kyaaha XD I like his character design, with the pin up
fringe, purple hair and such a cheerful face! Was actually thinking of going
after him first, but that was before I heard Kazuki’s voice.
Much to my surprise, Tsubasa makes a
lot of moves on Tsukiko right from the start O_O it was unexpected because he’s
supposed to be the innocent and childish kind of character. Then I realized
that it was his innocence that propelled him to express his desires so
directly.
LOL.. just... someone please call the hospital
It seems that he falls in love with
Tsukiko really early in the game but doesn’t know it. He tells Tsukiko that he
doesn’t know why his heart beat accelerates whenever he sees her and wants to
be with her even though he has never felt that way with other people before.
Then he asks Tsukiko how she feels when she’s with him. O_o They hold hands and
look at the stars. Well well well youngsters these days sure are open minded.
Tsukiko slowly realizes that Tsubasa
is actually a very lonely boy, beneath all that hyper activeness and cheerful
demeanor.
They start to get all 暧昧-ish eg
putting their hands on each others’ faces to keep each other warm on Christmas eve
-_- When the student council stays over in school for the new year, Tsukiko
wakes up in the middle of the night and allows Tsubasa to hug her to sleep when
he asks. Tsk tsk there has to be a limit to his innocence right!? Yes, it’s
only possible because this is a game.
Tsubasa was really close to his late
grandfather who was also a little bit of an inventor. However, after his gramps
passed away, Tsubasa got so afraid that everything he treasured would leave him
one day so he tried not to get close to anyone, for fear of the pain of losing
them. His principle goes like this ‘do not get used to happiness, because once
you’ve experienced it, you will crave more. Since all good things come to an
end, the loneliness at that time will become unbearable.’ What a twisted logic… Tsubasa was never too
close to his grandmother and left the house to stay at the dormitory after his
grandfather passed away, he has never returned home since school started.
Tsukiko discovers that Tsubasa
doesn’t have friends outside the student council and asks if he gets lonely.
Tsubasa gives a twisted reply in accordance to his strange logic as mentioned
above. For the same reason he also starts to distance himself from the student
council because he has unconsciously gotten used to being so happy when hanging
out with Kazuki, Hayato and Tsukiko.. He wouldn’t have minded if this were to
continue, but Kazuki was going graduate, and it just wouldn’t be the same
without Kazuki.
Tsubasa makes a decision to quit the
student council O_O and he stops going to the student council room.
Tsukiko meets Tsubasa in the student council room one
night and sees that his hair is damp. It appears that a pile of snow fell onto
his head as he was walking below a tree on the way to the room to get his
belongings. Since it’s the middle of winter, Tsubasa instantly falls sick with
fever with his wet hair and Tsukiko drags him to the sofa to dry his hair. He
starts emoing again when Tsukiko asks if he really has to leave the council.
Poor baby.. he sounded to sad and sick during that scene T ^T After that, Tsukiko
receives news from Kazuki that Tsubasa will continue with the student council.
Yay =D
So after all that hoo-ha, Hayato runs for president. Still, something
seems wrong, Tsubasa has cheered up, but something is still troubling him. He
asks Tsukiko while the view the stars a night before the elections if she has
fallen in love. Then he repeats some stuff about what his grandpa has told him
about love and says that he doesn’t mind searching for it, if it’s together
with Tsukiko. Wha? Tsubasa, don’t get what you’re saying at all LOL ( On the day of the elections, Tsubasa goes missing! They leave while
Hayato gives his election speech to look for Tsubasa HAHA poor Hayato!!!! They
find Tsubasa at a corner the rooftop garden and the first thing he says is
“Don’t come over here!”
O_O you committing suicide, Tsubasa?
He got cowardly again and once again, decided that he won’t stay here
(referring to the student council or the school, I have no idea) anymore due to
his twisted logic. Tsukiko goes over anyway and tells him that she’s also very
afraid of losing him. Finally, her words get through to him and under Kazuki
and Hayato’s encouragement, he tells Tsukiko that he wants her to be with him.
Of course she agrees and they start going out. Things become quite sweet here,
because all that
暧昧 is gone.
The student council finds out that
it’s Tsubasa’s birthday and quickly prepares a surprise celebration. When
they’re alone,Tsukiko feels bad for not preparing a gift and
Tsubasa says wants a kiss from Tsukiko and he gets it ^^ Then he keeps kissing
her! Wahhhh XD you kissing fanatic you! Stop saying such sexy stuff XD
For valentine’s day, Tsubasa gets chocolate from Tsukiko and gobbles
them up. Being the child he is, he gets chocolate at the side of his mouth and
it only appears when Tsubasa insists on sharing the chocolate through a kiss
since he got ahead of himself and finished all the chocolate. It’s a silly
looking CG, but slightly better than Hayato’s =X I’m just so glad they didn’t
make one for Kazuki, I would have cried in anguish. So I was sighing in relief
when Tsukiko cleaned off the chocolate on his face using her fingers and not
her mouth but the next moment, he licks it off her fingers. LOL
Tsukiko finds Tsubasa stoning in his classroom instead of going for
student council activities. He tells her that his grandmother had collapsed and
is receiving treatment at a hospital. Through a phone call, his grandma kept telling
him not to come visit her and that she’s alright. He’s worried and doesn’t know
what to do. Tsukiko listens to him and after a while, Tsubasa says that he
feels much better and is alright. He asks Tsukiko not to tell the rest.
Of course, things are never that simple and Tsubasa starts starving
himself, because he simply has no appetite and forgets to take his meals. He
doesn’t even remember when he stopped eating and he couldn’t even finish eating
a rice ball that Tsukiko made for him. TSUBASA MY POOR BABY! Don’t do this to
yourself please T__T Tsukiko is deeply concerned and makes it a point to eat
with him but his poor appetite affects her too and she starts eating less and
less. Both of them nag at each other to eat more but obviously they are totally
not convincing. Lol
Tsukiko almost faints on the way to class and Kazuki catches her. He
asks if she has been eating properly because she seems to have lost weight.
T__T this is why I love you, Kazuki. Kazuki brings Tsukiko to the student
council room where she spills everything. Just as she was about to cry, Kazuki
says women should only cry in front of the man they love awww XD (okie sorry
back to Tsubasa)
Kazuki comes back with a… yakisoba bread I think and tells her to eat
up while he drags Tsubasa out of class and holds the ‘men talk’ with Tsubasa on
the roof top garden during which Tsubasa gets punched XD It works! Tsubasa
decides that he needs to be a lot stronger, to protect and not let the people
whom he cares for worry. He also laughs his ‘nuhahaha’ laugh after a long time.
Tsubasa runs back to the student council room to find Tsukiko and his clip
drops off so his fringe is all over his face kya!~ XD
Tsukiko: This is Tsubasa.. right? LOL
Best ending: Tsubasa and Tsukiko move to America after he proposes to
her. They return to Japan to get married and Tsubasa is stunned by how
beautiful Tsukiko is in the wedding gown on the day of the wedding. XD nothing
much happens
Ending 2: Kazuki comes back to visit during the golden week holidays
and he reprimands Tsubasa for always sticking to Tsukiko so closely XD Hayato
says that Tsubasa gets very possessive of Tsukiko and this inspires Kazuki to
deliberately come close to her. Tsubasa’s all like “YOU’RE TOO CLOSE” then he
drags Tsukiko to an empty classroom and kisses her many many \(^o^)/
Ending 3: Tsubasa tells Tsukiko that he wants to further his studies
in America after graduation, to build a huge spaceship and his first passenger
will be Tsukiko XD Azusa will then be the astronaut. He even suggests having
their honeymoon in space XD Tsukiko tells Tsubasa that she wants to continue
learning about the stars cos she wants to show their beauty to people and also
to view the stars with Tsubasa forever. Ehh Tsukiko, that isn’t technically a
job but nvm..
Ending 4: Tsukiko attends Tsubasa’s graduation ceremony with Hayato
and Kazuki. Tsubasa will be leaving for America with Azusa after graduation and
Kazuki offers a listening ear to Tsukiko’s laments if she ever needs to rant.
Just then Tsubasa comes out and thanks everyone for coming. It ends up with him
crying in Tsukiko’s arms LOL zoomed in version of the crying sprite!
Whooo quite a long route! It was actually my least favourite out of
the winter guys but my heart totally went out to Tsubasa when he starved himself
T_T It’s not that he doesn’t want to eat, but there’s just no appetite.. I’ve
been through this myself and it’s not as torturous as it seems, just that the
body becomes so thin when you finally realise what’s happening ): For the
romance part.. no comments haha I personally found it not as appealing as Kazuki’s
