Gardens by the bay performance

I had a band-ful week and visited Gardens by the bay for the second time!

Really really miss playing my saxophone, I koped my friend's instrument for a bit and just played some scales and tunes. Not sure if it was the lack of a strap or that particular instrument, but I had so little stamina and sounded weak :( OH WELLS

Took lots of photos of the flowers in the flower dome. Pity the band's entry didn't include the cloud forest, I would have loved to enter that beautiful place again.....

Sho colourful! The flower dome was so cooling and the sun was not as strong as the first time I visited so it was really awesome.

Tuition has been cancelled these 2 weeks because tutee's staying at the ny boarding school. So I was able to attend the performance by an overseas band from gettysberg on a 2 weeks tour across the country. Abit OTL and ashamed of myself when they started off with a well executed Hands Across the Sea because we've played it last year and found it a horror LOL. Loved the well thought out encore they prepared for us-- Stand up for Singapore!

Crazy weekend

I will never cosplay two days in a row again... or try my best not to *______________*

Band concert was on saturday and I was asked to help at the front of house. Was planning to wear my nice black dress but but the exco wanted a little entertainment-- asked us to cosplay characters from series which songs were being played during the concert. The theme was oscar winning music so plenty of series eg mary poppins, sound of music, pochohantas, star wars etc. 

We decided to go with Princess Leia a few days before the concert and really.... good job to the exco for getting the bathrobe and white dress, if not I would have firmly declined to dress up. The vice president was very determined to make this cosplay happen (in contrast to my low enthusiasm) totally did up my hair too :) 

We also had a Darth Vader and John Smith so yeeeeaaaap! All turned out well. The music was very enjoyable, I could type an essay about my feelings for each song but I'll just keep it in my heart because I'm dead tired and want to talk about more exciting stuff. 

After the concert ended, almost a third of the band went to holland V to have supper. I skipped dinner but wasn't extremely hungry even then... Cosplay does this to me always, it makes my hunger disappear -_- 

I was lucky enough to get a ride back to school with a few other band mates, and the driver wanted to drop by Utown to get his stuff. It was close to 1am? I dunno. He spotted an indian guy lying on the ground at the busstop. O_O the guys went to prod him but there was no response.. he was breathing though. They didn't smell any alcohol though I caught a whiff of something and passed it off as cologne since the others said it wasn't alcohol. We called campus security who told us to call utown security. The security came to poke at the unresponsive guy shortly after and eventually called the police and ambulance because the guy was totally not responding.

Epic sia, seeing the paramedics and police do their stuff. Fortunately they managed to get the guy to react by pinching him LOL we should have thought of that aiya..... The guy threw up after a while and we realised that he was dead drunk. This also explains the plastic bag under his feet when he was on the ground. We actually thought he slipped on the plastic bag, fell and hit his head or something -__-

The policewoman was super fierce and kept handing him his handphone to call his friends to take him back to his room. He couldn't even open his eyes, much less speak properly and kept puking for a while, even stepping on his puke. X__X The paramedics poured water over his head to wake him up and rubbed an ice bag under his shirt haha he kept squirming LOL it was torturous to watch. Then the drunk tried to stand up and walk home repeating very loudly in a slur "trust me on this" (that he can get back to his room without calling his friends) and proceeded to stumble around hahaha and the policewoman was like "excuse me, you're puking all over the facilities"

We left after a while and almost 15 mins later when we passed by the busstop again, they were still there LOL

Anyways reached home at 2+am and quickly went to bathe and wash off my make up. Left the hair spray in my hair and went to sleep though.... too tired. I literally dropped into bed but couldn't sleep FML. Probably still high from post concert and the dead drunk guy incident. Also my stomach was really bloated and uncomfortable to sleep on because it was full of air since I skipped dinner. I think I got only 4 hours of bad quality sleep. Never again am I letting myself go without food for such a long period of time.....

My eyes were blood shot today but I still had the ff re-shoot which I die die had to go for because I screwed up the previous shoot as mentioned a few posts before. Long story short, I enjoyed myself much more today because wig issue was resolved and my contacts were totally fine, save for my blood shot eyes from lack of sleep. They started tearing towards the end though.. Must have been too tired.. I also knew the photographer and there was much more interaction and I think I was able to get good shots :)

Looking forward to the ff photos this time. No camwhore photos to post from the shoot but I'm pretty satisfied with the shoot today. Good night!

I've decided not to play for the band concert this semester. I've been harbouring this thought since school started but whenever I see my friends during practices I realise I miss them so so so much, I just can't bear to leave.

The first time I met the band peeps again after my total absence during the 3 months holidays, I felt so emotional because I missed them so badly. It wasn't about the saxophone or the music making any more but my section mates and all the people I knew throughout my 3 years with the band.. Sigh 

I could have dragged it on and eventually played for the concert.... but Sunday practices which start tomorrow is the breaking point. I haven't been to a single sectional this semester-- the first time I was very sick, second week was e-learning, and the latest session I was busy with lab which ended late so I decided to skip and go home even though bus D2 which goes to the band venue came first. As I watched the bus leave I knew that I wouldn't be playing with the band this semester.. Aiya sorry for being so drama but I'm really sad ok :'(  

I wouldn't be able to live with myself if I skipped a combined practice deliberately so yup rather than miss the sunday practice, I smsed my SL to inform her.. My conductor is in better health so I won't be so worried about him. The sax section has quite a few new members and is in good hands under the SL so all will be well :')

Hope I won't regret this decision. 

Happiest I've felt in weeks

Concert over! It was better than last sem's, at least for my own playing so I'm satisfied.

I felt so stressed and awful the day before the concert because of all the stupid school work and presentation stuff which were all magically due one day after the concert. It was like this heavy stone weighing down on my body, plus I knew I had to start emailing professors about doing FYP with them. 

Luckily while writing concert letters to my section late at night, I got quite emotional thinking that it might be my last time playing with some of them and started tearing up. Felt alot better after that and managed to complete my slides for the presentation. 

Yea I know I won't talk about unhappy stuff here but finding a prof for FYP has been making me really unhappy ever since I selected the option at the start of the semester to continue on to year 4. 

I was so worried that the professors would all ignore my email but imagine my joy when the 2 profs I emailed (trying to spam for better chances) both replied within a few hours! Meeting one of them tomorrow ie later :) hope things go well! I don't have a specific area of interest I admit, hahaha I actually chose to email one of the profs because on his lab website, the lab members page was titled 'lab rats'.

Well since I've broken my own rule of posting only happy stuff here, I'll just ramble on a little. To those who are judging, just because I seem to post only about my games/anime/cosplay (even on twitter) doesn't mean that I'm this 100% happy girl with no worries and is spending all her time playing. This is my blog/twitter/tumblr, not yours and I choose to post only what makes me happy. 

Happy belated April Fools!! (and nope, the prev paragraph is not a joke) My games are so cute!!

Not much time so this will be a picture post. I've also had a tiring day despite today being my free day. Not looking forward to my ultra long day tomorrow. 9am-10pm ftw!

Well actually I typed a long long essay ranting about Be My Princess and My Sweet Bodyguard but I'll leave that as a draft because it ended up sounding depressing ;__;

Finally saved up for the 36K mission, cowboy couple outfits! Won't rant about the Las Vegas event, other than I managed to complete it with days to spare. It kinda made me lose what little interest I had in Subaru though.. 

Good bye Sora, I have 2 more days left with you before I choose another bodyguard.. I may have laughed more during Kaiji's route but I really really love Sora's character design, evident from the million or two screen shots I took of him LOL

I've not decided on my next bodyguard because the event threw me off course. I wanted Daichi, but his event route was boring. Mizuki's was alright but he wasn't in my initial plans so I'm really undecided now.. Was considering Daichi or Goto, who was not included in the event so I can't form any impressions.. probably toss a coin, or stick to Daichi aka the old man hehe

Saxophone gig later at sentosa whee and I'm listening to our own recordings taken during practice on tuesday.. I suck seriously X__X better use another reed later. 

It has been such a productive week, and i'm left with 2 presentations next week and one cardio assignment essay. I finished my 2 lab reports, my part for the LAC chinese science fiction story (it was fun!! I was sad to finish it so fast..), cardio assignment, the all hate and no love GEK report which I barely remembered to upload to IVLE 1 hour before the deadline just now. How did I manage to finish everything?! hahaha praising myself -__- There's still a lot of revision so I can't slack no matter how much I want to sigh

Met up with the YYYs for an early birthday celebration last friday, mine and Sherin's wheeeeee It was a lot of fun and I got treated dinner at the Ben Ten cafe, food was not bad but too much msg, i was so thirsty after that. Also had my favourite dessert after taking neoprints LOL our awesome neoprints, unbeatable!

I've not touched my otome games for quite long.... since I made the Akazukin post.. Feeling a bit guilty but it's ok, cos they can wait. I'd rather spend free time watching anime. Got a few more games.. so my back log has increased again! I miss those days during the summer holidays where I could play all day though....

Be my princess for Gree is progressing well now that i've gotten the hang of the game. Downloaded a few more similar apps at one go and you know.. these games usually give you the choice of naming the heroine and I almost always use my name because come on.. spider9 sounds too funky for games like these. Usually it works well, other than sounding fake at times which I just cringe and get over. BUT THIS MADE ME LAUGH SO MUCH

My supposedly childhood friend who enrolled in the same music school without my knowledge.  This scene came without warning, that wink!! and the 'o hai!' gesture hahaha out of the 4 guys available I chose him because glasses power 8D I didn't think I cared that much for megane characters but apparently I do. Looking forward to the moment he takes them off!

Got this in school yesterday for $6, the cheapest I've seen so far.. OPI was selling at $10 so I didn't get any.. Been wanting a glitter nail polish and this was the best I could find.. was hoping to get one with bigger particles but only OPI had those i think.. so I made do with this. SHO PWEETY but when I tried it on i accidentally got a big gob on my nail tsk tsk the effect wasnt as I expected. Nail polishes are good for growing out my nails.. cos I won't be tempted to cut them too often or pick at any rough edges. 

Growing out my nail for AFA! I'll paint them after the event :) abstaining from chocolate until after the event because I've got an ulcer on my tongue from eating 4 yummy chocolate cookies at one go last sunday.. And every time I open the fridge and see the chocolate, I remind myself that I'll have ugly pimples and magic!! I reach for the kaya and eat it with bread instead. It's been 4 days already. Kinda dying for a cookie.

Post concert

Omigosh a week has zoomed by just like that.. Concert is over!

Thank you to the Ys for coming to support!! And the beautiful roses~~ I will be really sad when they start to droop. My mum told me to put them on my table so I can admire them more but as you know.. I don't allow much sunlight to enter my room so I left them in the living room instead.

                                    

Concert gifts preparation this time was significantly faster, maybe i've become more pro at putting the stuff in and twisting the metal thingy. The plastic bag was so pretty! But too small so I couldn't put more things inside haha

                                     

With my conductor and I look like a mad person here cos I was running here and there before the concert. Prepared a gift for him too :) maybe he will give it to his grandchild XD

With Daphne my primary school classmate!!! We've known each other since primary one and kinda lost touch after moving on to secondary school and I was so surprised when she tagged me on fb that she was at the concert :D 

Overall the concert had very fresh elements like the awesomely cool perc ensemble and the gimmicks for the encore piece plus the very interesting emcee HAHA previously the concert was under the arts festival and we were under tight control by the management so we were not allowed to make it too informal. I'm glad it was a more interactive concert this time :DDD

Almost a litre of tears

I had a bad dream last night. The band was performing at the esplanade library, where I played piano accompaniment to the sax duet last time. We spent a long time tuning and I was getting worried. Then we started performing one of the pieces we've been practicing and suddenly my only section mate was on the soprano saxophone, leaving me to solo the melody. I couldn't react in time and missed the whole part and it sounded terrible. 

We played like.. 2 songs and the management started chasing us off the stage cos we took too long. I was already close to tears on stage from the anxiety because we practiced so many other songs and only got to perform 2. Then somehow I realised in my dream that this wasn't the real concert and felt a little better. Still, while I was walking to the MRT to go home in the dream, I couldn't stop crying :(((

I've been sleeping rather late and getting low quality, dreamless sleeps for quite a few nights already. Was kinda hoping for a dream haha it came true but alas it was a nightmare..

As if the dream was a premonition, I cried during band practice today.. As you know, I really admire, respect and love my 70+ year old conductor since I joined the band in JC and I continued joining the band in uni partly because of him also being the conductor there. 

He has been feeling unwell since the semester started and today he took some time to explain to the band the reason for his late coming and early leaving, and why he was absent on some days. I got all teary eyed and could totally feel a blocked nose coming. I wouldn't have cried if he didn't elaborate but he did and as I listened to him talk about how he was unsure of whether he could still take us for the coming concert next week and how he went back to teach yesterday to test if he was fit enough for all these despite his doctor scolding him and all, I started crying. He actually had a minor surgery two days ago and he said right to the point before he became unconscious during surgery he was still thinking about the music for the concert. 

I was shaking in my seat trying very very hard not to sob out loud. It was quite bad cos my section mates probably didn't know what to do lol and i'm very sure the conductor could see me. I mean he's standing in front all healthy and fine but there I was crying like something extremely bad happened -__- didn't dare to look at my conductor properly after that haish.. Don't even want to think about how ugly I looked X___X and darn typing all these made me cry again..

It's a tradition that the SLs need to prepare a card for the conductor every concert. Anyways here's the card I painstakingly made for my conductor, made another one for the assistant conductor but it's not as nice and I forgot to take a photo haha.

So pretty right, I like it a lot too. It's really not bad a finished product given how i'm mad lousy at art and drawing. The colours made it look good and I have decent cutting skills :) 

Recess week

I finished one and 1/3 of my 2 reports, revised and watched macross frontier. Got myself two more otome games (more power to my backlog of games!) My slackest recess week ever =X

Won a giveaway on tumblr for Heileen 2 :D but I haven't heard from the wonderful owner after the first contact, so i'll post more after that whee~

Tuition has stopped and there goes my source of income... not good when I will be spending quite a bit for the rest of this year.... I've decided to go for Perfume's concert, because I will definitely regret if I don't :) 

Because of this, I've decided to not go for any of the AFA anisong concerts, giving up TM Revolution, Flow and Minami Kuribayashi........... Don't care much for the rest hahaha. If Kotoko came for AFA though, that would be a really tough choice. I might just choose Kotoko over Perfume XD 

Speaking of concerts.... NUSWS is having a concert on the 17th of October wednesday 7.30pm at Singapore Conference hall! It's a south and north america theme, which I don't quite get but the songs are really catchy this time, so guys please come and support :D

So I mentioned I started watching Macross Frontier, jumping on the band wagon rather late but better late than never lah. And I was already listening to macross music in the past, so I wasn't missing out on too much. It all started with the intention to cosplay Ranka Lee, but I got so interested in Alto, the male protagonist. So Alto it is XD he looks so attractive in his school uniform omg someone help me breathe. AND NAKAMURA'S VOICE ^//////^ It's a distant plan, but I hope i'll look really handsome hahaha!

It's week 4 already

Why are there so many cosplay events at this time of the year.. always. TGX is this weekend and nope, i'm not going down no matter what X__X sheesh.. need to study 

Past week has been quite happening, in and out of school. Sectionals have started and our tutor is still overseas so i've been taking sectionals, for two weeks and counting. A third week under me and he should be back then ^_^ reminds me of NJ times but of course it's less stressful. We have a bigger section this semester and i'm happy XD

I performed piano accompaniment for a saxophone duet at esplanade library last sunday. Made mistakes where I usually won't.... So regretful... but I'm getting another chance to perform next next week at another event so i'll be sure to do a better job then!! 

On the same sunday, I went for STGCC in the afternoon. It was such a last minute decision because of a double booking of the practice room-- the extra piano-sax prac was cancelled and meeting time was delayed. So I decided to attend STGCC alone. I'm such a loner I know. Didn't have time to dress up as anything so I went back to lolita. wahaha. Was fretting over my lack of eyelash glue so I used my blue contacts instead. IT WAS A GOOD TRIP. I knew Piko was attending the event, but I thought it was some concert at night and that I would never have a chance to see him. Was freaking happy and high when he had a meet the fan event and watched him perform two songs since I arrived in the middle of it. I totally got my entrance fee worth XD

Didn't buy anything.. and took not much photos. But these are my 3 ultimate favourites: 

NOIZ MY BABY!! I think I was the second person to take a photo of her? Asked if there was a team and she said that she was waiting for them. I waited too, was walking round and round, walked to the mrt twice intending to leave but my legs brought me back to the hall again to see if the team has assembled. -__- still.. after a while even Noiz disappeared T__T so I left the venue with a void in my heart.

AOMINE SAMA so good looking, so cool!!! I was too shy to take a photo with him. extremely inappropriate if I tried to zipai with him and I didn't want to just ask a stranger to take a photo of us using my iphone..ASDHKJDLASHJDL won't know how to pose either ^///^ nvm this will remain in my heart as a beautiful memory. The rest of the team stood around, chatting among themselves hahaha why they no pose :(

The first two cosplayers I spotted when walking to the hall. Stalker mode on. Also the reason why I missed Piko's first song hahaha Very very good cosplay! It's what I hope to do with Yz some day too haha they beat us to it. Nahh it's actually still a very distant plan.. Hisoka's hair is so hard to style and pull off.

The last picture was taken using my proper nikon camera and the colour is so ugly... I need to learn how to change the settings or sth....... Someone teach me please. It's so embarrassing esp when other more pro photographers were taking photos too and I was so afraid that they would see the hue of the photo from my camera screen and scoff. Too self conscious I know.. Anyways I just kept my camera and used my phone instead. But it's quite bad to ask a whole team who was slacking around to pose for your iphone -__- as a result I didn't manage to get photos of larger groups, mostly individual or couple shots.

Second week of school

Year 3 semester 1... I feel so stale

Going to be a busy semester with lots of group projects =D two of my modules are heavily focused on group work, it'll be a nice change I guess! Search for life on other worlds and Chinese for science and technology. My chinese has really dropped to the pits-- I was so embarrassed to receive my mini essay back with one wrong word and an incomplete sentence X_X hope laoshi doesn't think too badly of me.

House party and welcome tea over! My longest solo yet for house party and quartet performance went well, and i'm involved in another quartet plus playing piano accompaniment for a saxophone duet. Sometimes I think i'm biting off more than I can chew but it's okies.... as long as it doesn't interfere with my main hobbies. And most importantly I don't hate all these music (: 

Met up with the Ys and the bfs hahaha had nice Vietnamese grilled chicken and went drinking at wala wala after that. Crapped alot about the old days, I think the bfs were bored but oh wells 8D 

Went with Yz yesterday to queensway shopping centre to get pullover hoodies for our hiphop!Gintama cosplay and found really nice ones. But they were not for individual sale T______T arsdfkjhlaefhjalehf right under our noses but not for sale. Sheesh so we braved the rain and the long walk and went to IMM giant hoping to find some pullover hoodies.. Disappointing... they only sold tacky ones which looked like door mats. Walked around the jurong mrt area but still no hope. Even made one last try at clementi center area... At the end of the day we only got caps and found lots of suitable gloves at daiso. I hope they will still be in stock when I need to buy them for my next cosplay. If any of you own a plain (abit of pattern is fine) bright colored pullover hoodie, please let me know!!!! Really hope this sunday will turn out well.... Main thing is to have fun lah

You know.. I wanted to post about seiyuus cos I recently did a ranking test and am full of feelings for the results. But the Ys are complaining that I don't talk enough about myself here so yea HAHAHA next time then ;)

How's life

The weather has been unbearably hot these few days..

Just came back from a saxophone gig at marina bay sands for the opening of the dragonfly lake, it's a beautiful place wahaha doesn't look like Singapore I have to say XD earned some money there =DD
The money was a surprise because we weren't expecting to be paid on the spot, and a rather big amount too. Well, i still feel the need to grumble talk about how ridiculously early I had to wake up today, and all the fierce practices we went through. The first quartet practice two weeks totally tired me out though I had been consistently playing at NJC and we weren't able to play well when we met for prac the next day lolol. The actual performance itself wasn't flawless and I squeaked quite a few times -__- i also kinda fell apart at the last piece which was an unplanned encore because it went faster than I could manage. =X other than that, wheeee~

Will be getting my Kurapika wig soon, I hope this one turns out better and i'll sell off the previous one which was too light in colour, or wreck my brains for some character I can use it for.

Chionged Sakamichi no apollon yesterday, cos I couldn't wait for the anime and pity the site only has up till chapter 30. Full of feels for the series, though it's too much love triangles for me to really really like it. Shall end off with this very sexy picture of Junichi san who's voiced by Junichi Suwabe wahaha coincidence?

Afa shopping, birthday!

Put on make up to practise for afa.. Looked fine but toward the end of the day, didn't hold up. I guess foundation is a must after all.. How arh.. I also didn't manage to achieve the same look for my eyes which Janice helped me with last year..

Either way, camwhore time!! Met up with YZ and had a fruitful trip :D

My section planned a surprise celebration for me!! The room was in total darkness when i entered after setting up my instrument, then Jm and Elizabeth played happy birthday on the saxophone and piano together. Super romantic can!! XD Yong Chun and Gilbert (the tutor) were there too XDXD smile until cant see eyes.. So much for make up HAHA

Can't wait for next saturday, but got to get past some CAs 1st X__X
