Ranting post

Just because we have holidays, the teachers pile us with homework. This time chu2 xi1 and all those stuff fell on a weekend so i feel quite short changed. X__X Darn it chem is so irritating cos i have to write so much and there's a history presentation to prepare for. Plus lots of extra lessons to make up for the missed lessons. Math consolidation test, essay outlines, gp mess-with-your-mind-questions, CIP omg i dont want to be the cip rep anymore if that's the attitude the class is going to give me. I dont care if the teacher thinks badly of me, i have plenty of achivements to write about in my testimonial.

Most of all, i dread pe. If i get skin cancer in the future, i'm going to ___ the school. Dont ****** put our pe lessons at 3 or 4pm! Whoever placed pe lessons at that time should just go run 1 round on the track during that period of time. I hope you melt. I'm so going to mention this during dialogue session with the P if no one talks about it. Politely of course. For the sake of the future nj students. Does the school know that some people burst out crying or start puking in the toilet after pe lessons? Darn it pe is supposed to improve our fitness and health, not twice-a-week torture sessions. We are not training in a military camp, there's no need to make us run 10 rounds under the steaming boiling hot sun. There's a reason why some people arent in sport ccas you know. I appreciate that the pe teachers stand in the sun to time us while running but please have mercy. We are not in school to get gold for napfa or to run like a mad dog.

Sorry but i really really really detest pe. My arguements arent well supported but i hope the school will some day see the flaws in the time table. Dont even get me started on the single 30 minutes break on a day which ends at 3.30pm.

This morning when i went to the band room, i noticed that the door was wide open and both fans were blowing full power at the door. Elaine the qm complained that there was a weird smell in the band room while xiang yin insisted that a rat had died somewhere in the room. I argued that if there really was a rat corpse somewhere, the smell would be unbearable. My sl was so scared that she stayed near the door the whole time =( We finally agreed that the stink was a very diluted version of how a dead rat should smell like. Not that i've smelt one before.. I bet someone must have spilled water on the carpet lah =D

Sir, your'e married?!

Post tittle doesnt mean anything, it was just something random which popped into my mind when i saw the ring on my INT history teacher's finger.

I'm in a good mood now cos my SEA history teacher just sent me an email approving my holiday assignment XD whee hahaha... *_* alright my eyes are closing even though it's only 9.30pm

I currently have no manga to read cos hunter x is still on hiatus and there are no updates for the series that i'm following.. As for anime -__- i can watch nothing but Naruto on crunchyroll. This means it's time to move on because i cant even watch Gintama!! It niaos me to see all the new episodes uploaded when i cant watch it in my region. Guess they're just trying to make us pay. Well, sorry but i'm just a penniless student.

Last sunday, i went to IMM and boughtt my new radio. An akai which cost $178. Quite cheap but the speakers.. omg the bass booms like there's no tomorrow. Thankfully dad's an expert at all these so he's adding weird resistors and wires to the speaker cables to improve the sound. The bass is still too strong but definitely a great improvement from when i 1st got it.

While i was queuing up with parents to pay for the radio and other groceries, i suddenly felt something on my butt X__X i was wearing jeans then. When i turned around, i saw this 2-3 year old girl sitting in a shopping trolley suddenly withdrawing her hand HAHA then she smiled at me shyly XD HAHA omg so cute! I was dying from her cuteness.. My mum kept laughing. What lah her daughter got molested and she's still so happy lol

Took a photo with my corkless-so-use-masking-tape saxophone which i have been using since i joined nj. Sure it squeaks now and then and the masking tape threatens to come off whenever i remove the mouthpiece but it's nice to play and shiny! two and a half more math papers plus 300 more words X band X manga

Haha i'm almost done with holiday homework.. about time anyway.

Will definitely finish 2 more math papers today which leaves me with the last math paper and a short 300 words Gp paragraph.

There's band again tomorrow, rehearsal for the march in on monday. Mr Ho wants me to conduct.. apparently because the saxophone part is not important T______T as compared to the trumpet and because we only have one bassoonist so oh no, we cant spare the bassoon either. Thus i am the only student conductor left haha. X__X i didn't mean to sound so sacarstic but that was honestly my 1st thought. It's alright! More experience means more confidence =D

I want to make another trip down to kino at takashimaya to dig for more gold. Firstly to find X 3 which i was sadly forced to give up in malaysia. I don't think kino will have Tokyo babylon.. but it wont hurt to check once in a while XD It was the same for Clover.. i never gave up hope and pooof! it appeared on the shelf haha.

Perhaps my new year resolution should be to spend less $$ on manga and anime merchandise hahaha

Basilisk reeks of blood

I luuurve anime like this.
It makes my blood boil and gives me an adrenaline rush. 'Though this is not common, you can still google it' HAHA =X

Even though i've not heard much nor paid any special attention to this particular series in the past, i was attracted and intrigued the moment i saw the advertisement on okto. It was like a revelation-- haha sorry for using such a strong word. I just felt instinctively that i will love Basilisk 8D
Basilisk was published as a manga in 2003 which wasnt too long ago. I have actually checked it out on wiki before but the manga cover made me lose interest.. It looked so old school, not that i have anything against old fashioned drawings like dragonball.. just not my type.
But just one glance at the anime graphics and the action scenes on okto got me so interested. Haha i admit, i quite like brainless fighting but that wasn't the reason why i had my heart set on basilisk. It was the graphics and the overall atmosphere portrayed by the anime-- i sensed death, plots and the unravelling of a tragic tale. /T ^T/

An anime like this is certainly a nice change from what we have nowadays eg harem/reverse harem/ love comedy/ friendly action blablabla. Kurozuka and blades of immortal which came out awhile ago should belong in the same category as Basilisk but those 2 failed to get my attention even though i watched both anime. Sigh i'm picky, am i not? XD

So... Basilisk is about two powerful ninja clans with a long history of hatred sending 10 elite ninjas each to battle each other after the peace treaty which prevented them from fighting was broken. From the previous sentence, you might think it's sth like a tournament where you have 1vs1 battles but no. They're not that civilised. The battlefield is unlimited aka when ninjas from the enemy clans meet, it's either fight or die. There's abit of romance element between the leaders of both clans. Gennosuke (guy), with the reversal eye technique which turns any murderous intent of an attacker onto the attacker himself. Oboro (girl) has a pair of 'mystic eyes' which can neutralise any ninja techniques. In love with each other but are torn apart by the renewed fighting between both clans. Both characters are tourmented by the responsibilities of leading their own clans to victory and the love they feel for each other.

What i love about Basilisk is the raw feeling it gives me. No censorship, no toning down. It's the essence of ninja techniques and skillful fighting. Nothing like naruto which is full of fillers and anti-climaxes. Haha however, one disappointment of the manga was the lack of character development. In a mere 34 chapters, we see the deaths of 20 powerful ninjas. For those that i was especially interested in, i was very sorry to see them go T__T

Also, i have something to say about with the way Oboro was drawn in the manga, especially her eyes. In the anime, both Gennosuke and Oboro had very thick and long eyelashes and i could not decide who had more haha. But in the manga, it was obvious that Gennosuke was the winner since Oboro was given only average amount of eyelash XD I know it's a silly thing to mention but really when i saw oboro in the manga i noticed her lack of eyelashes as compared to the anime immediately.

Haha nevertheless i like the drawing style. Gives every guy the bad boy look which i love XDXD ( Koshirou and Yashamaru XD) Overall the series was slightly too rushed with little character development for the ninjas. But i still like it!! =D Just like X CLAMP where the seals of heaven and dragons of earth battle it out, but Basilisk has less bishies and angst. Plots like this totally mesmerise me..... Oh, and even though we see the romeo-and-juliet kind of love between Gennosuke and Oboro, it was not the focus of the plot and only minimal attention was given. Not bad, not bad, give Basilisk a try!
