I'm so happy!!!!!

Last saturday........... I finally cosplayed a character from Hunter X Hunter; one of my favourite characters; my hubby of 8 years and counting-- Shalnark from the Genei Ryodan 

                                           

It's a dream come true, because I even had a team!!!! :D we were all busy and the shoot kept getting delayed but it still happened :)))))) 

Did the first costest on friday, which was pretty late, at one day before the shoot but things were looking good so I was even more excited XD the shoes were my main concern because I wanted to use the green cloth to wrap them up but it didn't work well! So I made the decision to paint them using green acrylic X_X

Usually I complain alot while making props but not this darling devil phone XD it was so fun to make and simpler than guns or beads or whatnots. Squealed like mad while assembling the eyes especially XD it's just so cute okay XDXD From where I stopped months ago (the first photo) I decided that it was too wide and sliced off a mm or two from each side. Got a little worried there cos I didn't slice it neatly and I thought I had to redo the whole thing hahaha. I even made it such that I could change the screen by sliding pre-made screens in through the side ehehe so cute so cute.

The antenna was very cute to make also XD I broke a chopstick in half and added jumping clay at the top. Stuck on the wings, lined them with jumping clay, painted the stuff and tada~~~ All the buttons were made using jumping clay too!

So I met up with the bf and had lunch before going over to the shoot location. It was a very windy area and even got cold at some point hahaha feel sorry for those in just bandages or singlets. The shoot started a little late though, and I had more poses which I wanted photos of but due to time constraints, I only got 2 fulfilled XD It's okay, I'll definitely be cosing Shalnark a few more times.

Lots of new experiences XD we experimented with candles, the entire team skipped dinner and braved the rain for a night shot at MBS, hope it will turn out well :DDD This shoot was also my latest ending shoot ever. I got home at 3am OTL Waiting for taxi took forever hahaha when I finally got in bed, I couldn't feel my legs anymore, my lower body just felt like a lump.

So lazy

Hello guys it's been a restful and peaceful week. No gigs, no pracs, no cosplay, just sleeping, tuition and meeting up with J and YYYs and the bf. I haven't had so much time at home doing nothing in a long while. If every week were like this, I'd definitely be pushing myself to get a job haha because I've been sleeping soooo much. Applied to a few positions in school and we shall see :)

Trying hard to put some meat back on my bones. My mum supports me wholeheartedly and tells me to eat and sleep more. I really feel like a sloth, taking afternoon naps every day X__X Will finish up my husbando's prop soon!!! The shoot is finally happening this coming saturday :DDDDDD

 My mum bought this thingy to save us the effort of wringing the mop dry. It works well I'm happy!

We're going to be six months in two weeks, time flies :)))))

:) a super tiring but fun weekend

Friday was a tough day.. I was still doing the beads and belt right till the last minute. And around evening time, leader san almost wanted to postpone the team debut because he might be stuck in camp on Saturday. It dampened my mood because I was looking forward to cosing Vanille and it's the first time I'm cosing for an event in perfect health. Yea so when I got the news, super no mood to continue rushing. I was tired, stressed, sticky and had tuition at night just super bad mood lah. Slept at 2+am that day feeling worried that I might miss something out the next day. Haha on hindsight, I should have tried on the beads asap and started on the belt earlier. The belt wasn't hard, just time consuming. The beads I couldn't have tried it on without troubling people at home but I could have thought out a better method of putting them all together. One thing I'm happy about is my 3 fishing tube necklaces :DDDD they were the first accessories I finished and gave me no trouble during the actual day too :'D

Aiya bad things aside, we all managed to pull through and turn up at the event :)))) even though half the team was 2 hours late haha. I had so much trouble wearing the beads, it's impossible to wear without any help omg a nightmare. Extremely thankful to my 2 friends for helping me wear the beads and hooking everything up.  

I didn't realise the reason at first but I was very uncomfortable on saturday-- can't breath properly, no energy even to get food and it was all because of the bra lololol omy it was especially bad in the early afternoon when I was struggling to put on my costume. After the full team assembled I felt slightly better cos of the adrenaline rush I guess and managed to tahan the entire afternoon. At night after dinner I was almost bent double because the bra was so suffocating. Well at least it didn't threaten to slide off :/ that would have been another nightmare.

All in all, there are many improvements I can make to the costume like making the top shorter and securing the beads better. I'm glad no one pointed out that my torso was too short hahaha it was okay with just the top, but add in the belt and I look like I have no waist. I might be getting better with dealing with costumes in general but my make up seems stagnant.. No breakthrough....... 

Day 2 costume was a hundred times easier and I've never been happier to cosplay Laguna again. To my pleasant surprise after taking everything out on saturday night, my machine gun baby was doing really well and barely needed any touching up. So was the costume. I just repaired the belt a little and all was good to go. 

Didn't want to get out of bed on sunday T__T Struggled with the wig for a good half an hour at the mrt toilet and it was also the wig which gave me trouble throughout the event. I used bobby pins to stop it from moving but to no avail. Ah well. Laguna's hair style makes my face look fat, I'm a little worried about the photos to be honest haha.

Also because I was wearing relatively little the day before, I didn't realise how stuffy and hot the hall was. I perspired so much in the costume on sunday and I believe my face was like 2 shades darker than what it should be :X compared to saturday, less people asked to take photos of me LOL though I'm also a 美男 on sunday，美女真的比较有吸引力  hahaha 

Hahahaha with Kiyo as Shinkai. I'm just hoping for more photos of Laguna to pop out, fat face or not ^__^

As for Sugita......... I actually missed his actual panel because the bf arrived late with leader san's group, they were rushing props right till the last minute. That's perfectly fine! Problem was, the bf was holding on to almost all the tickets to enter the hall so the other friends who wanted to enter early to catch Sugita were all waiting anxiously for his arrival. I wanted to go see Sugita as well but Leader san had to leave really really soon and wanted a group photo so I had to go with the group. Lucky Sugita isn't high on my seiyuu bias list, if not I'd be whining alot more. 

I still managed to catch him later on by chance XD because he appeared for the corpse party panel hahahaha he's so good looking with the wig XD  didn't quite understand what they were talking about and had no interest in the corpse party game so I left after staring for a good 10 minutes at Sugita.

Costest

I had 2 performances this week super tired cos they were all in the morning and one was at bedok. The practices didn't go well also and it's super draining because I cannot make a sound effortlessly. 

Trimmed my wigs this morning and finally cut the fur thingy, because the event is this saturday, how long more can I put it off lolol Finally tried on the easiest part of the beads to see how they would hold up. Right before I took this photo, one string broke off and the beads scattered everywhere omg...... Luckily it was a shorter one with less beads. If this happens on saturday I will just stun there........ 

This was taken a few days ago before I cut the fur and it's not the full costume. I think I will be able to pull it off on saturday. Pull it off = people who know the character will recognise her + I don't look ugly. As of now I need to find a way to tie the 3 tubes around my neck, position and sew velcro to the top, make the belt, piece the back thing and the body beads together and make sure they stay up. I can do it!!!!!! I can!! I have to! Oh darn I forgot about her harness for the weapon T____T should I still make it? Cos I didn't make the weapon. But I'm already cutting slack and not making the weapon........... I should at least make the harness... Or should I not XD hehehe

5 wigs on my piano X____X my room is so messy now. Cosing Laguna on sunday and I haven't had a chance to look at my machine gun baby again because was too busy rushing the stuff for saturday. At least I manged to trim his wig this morning. 

Had to borrow a strapless bra from a friend for this saturday because I don't own any lolol she was so shocked. Since I had a suitable bra to go with halter neck tops, I tried on my costume for AFA and tio shock. It's so yellow T_________T I know it's psyduck and yellow is a lovely colour but this is... too much sia!!!! Even my wig will be blond. Maybe I should post this in the group and see what they say. But it will mean more work definitely T__T
